Zenaida 'Zeni' Ortiz

Zenaida "Zeni" Ortiz Rolon, age 70, the spouse of Johnny Ortiz for 46 years, passed into peaceful rest on December 10th 2022 in her home. Zenaida was born on June 5th 1952 in Bayamon, Puerto Rico the beloved daughter of the late Roberto Rolon & Isabel Cintron. Zenaida was the youngest of 7 siblings and was affectionately known as Zeni. Besides her parents Zenaida was predeceased by 2 brothers, Hector W. Cintron and Manuel Cintron. Zenaida was raised in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. She studied at Interamerican University of Puerto Rico in San Juan, Puerto Rico and graduated Class of 1975. Soon after Zenaida began her career as an educator. Zeni, her husband and children moved to Bridgeport, CT in 1985, around the same time she started working as a leader of the PAC team for Bridgeport Public Schools. Zenaida was such a warm and caring person, every student she's ever had has remembered her till this day and always preached about how she influenced them positively and inspired them to advocate for themselves and what they wanted in life. She was always very involved in the school system and worked for the Bilingual Department of the City of Bridgeport for 26 years before she retired. Zeni not only uplifted her students but her family as well, she was known as the leader of her family and will remain that way always. Zenaida is survived by: husband, Johnny Ortiz; children, Jennifer, Johnny Rey, Janice; siblings, Hilda M. Cintron, Migdalia Cintron, Elsie Cintron, Migdalia Erazo; grandchildren, Marcus Marin, Isabelle Marin, Antonio, Cristina, Jacob, Johnny Rey Ortiz and Hector Ortiz; and a host of extended family and friends that will cherish her memory.
