Yvonne Weaver

Yvonne L. Weaver, age 74 of Bridgeport, beloved wife of Walter Leon Weaver, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at St. Vincent's Medical Center, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family. Yvonne was born August 8, 1945 in Bridgeport, CT. the daughter of the late Joseph Gomes & Nannie Hill. Yvonne was a kind-hearted and dedicated wife, daughter, sister, and friend to many. She was a woman of God and had a love and passion for the Lord Jesus Christ. Yvonne was a devoted member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Bridgeport, where she loved attending services and spending time with the children. Yvonne cherished her Nobb Hill Community and the many lasting friendships she made there. She enjoyed watching T.V. and spending time with her family and friends. Yvonne was affectionately nicknamed "Madea" because of her absolute love of the movies. She will be missed deeply by all who had the honor of knowing her. In addition to Walter, her husband of over 40 years, Yvonne is survived by: niece, Tara, Simone Wright; Godchildren, Kadie & Richard Ortiz;; best friends, Denise, Helen, Ann; caregivers, Margie, Letha, Valarie; and a host of extended family and friends who will cherish her memory. A Memorial Service celebrating Yvonne's life will be held Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 11:00AM at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 1100 Park Ave, BPT, CT. 06604. Interment will be held privately.
