Winston Newby was born on August 06, 1933, in Saint Ann, Jamaica, West Indies and passed away peacefully on Monday December 15, 2025. He lived a long and meaningful life marked by dedication to family, hard work, and quiet strength.

Winston migrated from Jamaica to the United States in pursuit of opportunity and a better future for his loved ones. Through perseverance and commitment, he built a life rooted in service and responsibility. He worked for many years at Bridgeport Hospital, where he was known as a dependable and hardworking employee. After a long and faithful career, he retired, leaving behind a legacy of professionalism and pride in honest work.

Winston was a devoted husband to his predeceased wife Edith Newby and a loving father to four children Ashley Newby-Whyne, Yvonne Newby (predeceased), Anthony Newby (Predeceased) and Annette Newby-Harrison. He is predeceased by his parents, Anthony(son), Yvonne(daughter), Kenroy (grandson), Doris(sister), Noseda (sister) and Rudolph (brother).

He is survived by Ashley Whyne (daughter), Annette Harrison (daughter), Michael Harrison (son in-law), Valerie Newby (daughter in-law), Sonia Nickle (step-daughter), Oliver Thompson (step-son), Glenroy (grandson), Kevin (grandson), Kaydian (granddaughter), Alexa (granddaughter), Michelle (granddaughter), Michael Jr (grandson), Carmeta (granddaughter), Antoinette (granddaughter), Micah (grandson), Nahum (grandson), Delphena Williams (sister), Albertha Mighty (sister), Rhona Williams (niece), Seventeen great grandchildren, other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. His family was the center of his life, and he took great pride in providing guidance, support, and stability. He will be remembered for his wisdom, resilience, and the sacrifices he made to ensure a better future for those he loved.
