William Monk Jones

William "Billy" Monk Jones, age 59 of Bridgeport, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, October 19, 2019 in St. Vincent's Medical Center, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family. Billy was born March 27, 1960 in a Bridgeport, CT., to the late Joseph Jones and Julia Lopes. He was later raised in Success Park by his grandparents, the late Monk and Margret Sims, who he loved very deeply. Billy graduated from Bullard Havens Technical High school in 1976 where he played numerous sports. He later worked as a truck driver for over ten years. Billy will always be remembered for his personality and sense of humor. He never missed an opportunity to crack a joke and loved to be around family and friends. In addition to his parents and grandparents, Billy was predeceased by his brother, Joseph Jones Jr. and grandson, Jacqui Smith Jr. He leaves behind to mourn him: two daughters, Kellie and Lindsey Jones; three Goddaughters, Jenita Morales, Markeshia Campbell, and Deandra Bloschichak; two very active grandchildren, Sevyne and Travis Grant Jr.; two sisters, Desiree Sampson and Sonya Dougley; two brothers, Kevin Jones and Jasper Dougley; long time friends, Donald Barns, Mark Hatton, and Alex Rivera; as well as a host of loved cousins, friends and family members.
