Virginia Lopez

Virginia Lopez, age 83, of Bridgeport, CT the spouse of Castulo Lopez entered eternal rest on September 6, 2021 in Branford, Connecticut. On February 7, 1938 Virginia was welcomed into the world by her beloved parents Juan Jose Acevedo and Espolita Masallo Acevedo in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. She came from a big family, Virginia had 10 siblings. She was raised and educated in Puerto Rico. Virginia relocated to Spanish Harlem, New York in 1956 and then to Bridgeport, Connecticut in 1960. Virginia worked in a factory for many years. She was a strong woman and a mother figure to many. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren unconditionally. After her daughter Irene and her son Carlos passed away, Virginia raised her grandson Juan Falcon, granddaughter Tiffany Falcon and grandson Carlos DeCampos. She also raised her two nephews, Michael and Juan Acevedo. Virginia was the true pioneer of the family. In the early years Virginia loved to dance Salsa and Merengue. She also loved sitting in her recliner watching TV. Her favorite show was Telenovelas (soap operas). Virginia was loved by many and will be missed but never forgotten. She will live in our hearts forever. Virginia is predeceased by: parents, Juan Jose Acevedo & Espolita Masallo Acevedo; daughter, Irene Lopez; son, Carlos Luis DeCampos; brothers, Pablo Acevedo, Pepi Acevedo, Juan Acevedo; sisters, Luz Maria Acevedo Masallo and Rosa Acevedo. Virginia is survived by: husband, Castulo Lopez; sons, Carlos Manuel DeCampos, Herman Lopez, Jessie Lopez, Antonio Lopez; grandchildren, Jessie Scott, Jason Scott, Tessie Lopez, Shameka Lopez, Rakeema Lopez, Rashaud Lopez, Kareem Wright, Juan Falcon, Tiffany Falcon, Carlos DeCampos, Irene DeCampos, Herman DeCampos, Gage DeCampos, Cherish Ramos, Manny DeCampos, Angie DeCampos, Michael DeCampos, Jessica DeCampos, Irene Lopez, Ashley Lopez, Janea Lopez, Jalani Lopez, Cherish Lopez, Antonio Lopez, Tony Lopez; great grandchildren, Juan Falcon Jr; Justin Gonzalez, Nevaeh Coover, Jazlyn Serrano, Jayden Serrano; several nieces and nephews; sisters, Margie Santiago, Ida Ruiz and Nilda Gutierrez; brother, Tito Acevedo and a host of extended family and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
