En memoria de Virgilio "Piro" Liciaga 2 marzo de 1947 – 20 de junio de 2025
Con profundo pesar y cariñoso recuerdo, anunciamos el fallecimiento de Virgilio Liciaga (Piro), de 78 años, residente de Bridgeport, Connecticut, quien falleció pacíficamente el 20 de junio de 2025 en el Centro Médico St. Vincent.
Nacido el 2 de marzo de 1947 en Arenales Alto, Isabela, Puerto Rico, Virgilio fue el amado hijo de los difuntos Lorenzo Liciaga y Zoila Corchado. Fue uno de cuatro hermanos y compartió sus primeros años con sus hermanas Rosa y Gloria, y su hermano Mariano. En la década de 1970, Virgilio estableció Bridgeport como su hogar permanente.
Quienes conocieron a Virgilio lo recordarán por su espíritu alegre. Le encantaba la musica y el baile, a bromear, siempre provocando sonrisas y risas dondequiera que iba.
Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres, Lorenzo y Zoila, así como sus queridos tíos, Mercedes y Juan Corchado.
A Virgilio le sobrevive sus hermanos Rosa (Nelson Crespo), Gloria y Mariano. También le sobreviven una querida familia que incluye a sus sobrinos y sobrinas: Rosa Agosto (Wilfredo), Hilda Ruth Crespo (Victor), Noemí Crespo, Sylvia Crespo, Mariano Rodríguez Jr. y Ariana Rodríguez; así como a sus primos Martín Liciaga e Iris Liciaga Corchado.
Aunque ya no está en esta tierra, el amor, la alegría de Virgilio siguen vivos en los corazones de todos los que tuvieron la bendición de conocerlo. Nos consuela saber que ahora descansa en la paz de su Salvador, rodeado de luz y alegría eternas.

With deep sorrow and loving remembrance, we announce the passing of Virgilio Liciaga (Piro), aged 78, a resident of Bridgeport, Connecticut, who peacefully died on June 20, 2025, at St. Vincent’s Medical Center.
Born on March 2, 1947, in Arenales Alto, Isabela, Puerto Rico, Virgilio was the beloved son of the late Lorenzo Liciaga and Zoila Corchado. He was one of four siblings and spent his early years with his sisters Rosa and Gloria, and his brother Mariano. In the 1970s, Virgilio made Bridgeport his permanent home.
Those who knew him will remember Virgilio for his joyful spirit. He loved music and dancing, and had a playful sense of humor—always bringing smiles and laughter wherever he went.
He was predeceased by his parents, Lorenzo and Zoila, as well as his dear aunt and uncle, Mercedes and Juan Corchado.
Virgilio is survived by his siblings Rosa (Nelson Crespo), Gloria, and Mariano; and by a loving family that includes his nephews and nieces: Rosa Agosto (Wilfredo), Hilda Ruth Crespo (Victor), Noemí Crespo, Sylvia Crespo, Mariano Rodríguez Jr., and Ariana Rodríguez; as well as his cousins Martín Liciaga and Iris Liciaga Corchado.
Though no longer with us in body, Virgilio’s love and joy remain alive in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him. We take comfort knowing he now rests in the peace of his Savior, surrounded by light and eternal joy.
