Verna Brown, age 90, the widow of Willie Brown, entered into eternal rest Monday, February 1, 2016 at Bridgeport Manor. Verna was the eldest of three, she was born on Saturday, June 6, 1925 in Norfolk, Virginia. She was the beloved daughter of the late Albert Johnson and Agnes Johnson. Besides her husband of 40 years Willie Brown and parents she is predeceased by brother, Linwood Johnson; and son-in-law, Nelson P. Kearney. Verna is survived by: seven children, Verna Kearney of Trumbull, Connecticut, Constance & son-in-law Ricky Williams of Maryland, Deatrice Carter of Stratford, Connecticut, Thomas & daughter-in-law Millicent Romano Brown of Derby, Connecticut, Denise Matthews of Stratford, Connecticut, Kenneth & daughter-in-law Nakia Anderson of Bridgeport, Connecticut, Stanford Anderson of Mount Vernon, New York; sister, Precious Jewel & brother-in-law Kelvin Hunt of Virginia; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family and friends that will cherish her memory. Viewing will be held Monday, February 8, 2016 from 11:00am to 12:00 pm.
