Steven Anthony 'Heaven' Blaine

On Thursday, December 5, 2013 in Stratford, CT the angels came to carry Steven Anthony Blaine Sr. "Heaven" home to be with the Lord. He was born in Bridgeport, CT on January 28, 1957 to DeLois Ezekiel. Steven was the oldest of five children. Steven was a resident of Bridgeport, CT for many years then in 1994 he relocated with his family to Derby, CT and 2012 he relocated to Stratford, CT. He received his education in the Bridgeport Public School System. Steven worked as school crossing guard, school bus driver and for the night recreational program for the city of Bridgeport, CT. He coached basketball for English Chapel Cathedral of Miracles and ABCD summer league. He was all about encouraging the youth to move in a positive direction with their lives. He loved to tell jokes and make others laugh. He was the life of the party. His famous quote was "You have not because you ask not". His pride and joy was his two grandsons Jadem Blaine and Christopher Wiley Jr. He was a faithful member of English Chapel Cathedral of Miracles where he was a member of the missionary board, usher, basketball coach and former member of the male choir. He leaves to cherish his fond memories, four children one son Steven Blaine Jr., three daughters TiNisha Blaine, Roshelle Blaine and Shana Blaine; two grandsons Jadem Blaine and Christopher Wiley Jr.; The love of his life Josie Blaine; his mother DeLois Ezekiel two brothers Edward & Michael Ezekiel, two sisters Darlene Ezekiel and Janet Webb; one aunt Rosemary (Elder Major) Stancill; two uncles Ulice & Jeffrey Blaine; one great uncle Darlington Freeman of Princeton, NJ; and a special best friend Kenny Geter and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his grandparents Thomas & Mother Lois Blaine, aunts Grace Dicks, Patricia Mauesby and Penelope Joseph, Uncle John Blaine Sr. and best friend Tom Jones. Friends may greet the family Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013 from 6:00pm to 7:00pm. A Celebration of Steven's Life will proceed from 7:00pm to 9:00pm officiated by Bishop Ernest Epps at English Chapel Cathedral of Miracles UFWB Church 285 Wilmont Ave. Bridgeport, CT. 06607.
