Sonya Lajean Bolden

Sonya LaJean Bolden, age 51 of Bridgeport, CT., entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at St. Vincent's Medical Center, surrounded by the love and care of her family. Sonya was born May 20, 1966 in Norwalk, CT., the beloved daughter of Gracie (Pierce) Bolden & the late George Bolden. She was a Bridgeport resident for over 30 years. Sonya loved being a mother; her sons, Isaiah & Zeek, meant the world to her. She had a unique, signature style that was truly her own. Sonya volunteered her time working with those who needed help. She was loving, compassionate, and always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. She was also great at making people laugh. Words cannot express how much she will be missed. Besides her father, Sonya was predeceased by her brother, William A. Bolden; and her step-father, Dickson "Roy" Gary. In addition to her mother, Sonya is survived by: son, Isaiah D. Bolden-Willoughby of Norwalk; son, Ezekiel Bey-Bolden of Bridgeport; fianc of over 8 years, Willie Upchurch; brother, George T. Bolden & sister-in-law Maria of Bridgeport; uncle, Harold & aunt-in-law Nellie of Long Beach, CA.; aunt Dorothy & uncle-in-law Willie, of Tennessee; nephew, Steven Bolden; nephew, George J. Bolden Jr.; niece, Shantel Bolden; niece, Rosalie Bolden; and a host of extended family and friends who will cherish Sonya's memory. May she Rest in Peace.
