Sheila Annette Fields-Edwards affectionately known as Nette 58, of Bridgeport, Connecticut the loving spouse of Stephen Gerard Edwards, has passed away on July 29, 2024 in Bridgeport Hospital. Born on July 19, 1966, in Fort Lee, Virginia to Mary Ann Fields and Sylvester Emory Fields Sr.
Sheila’s journey was marked by love, joy, and boundless energy. Married to her devoted husband, Stephen Gerard Edwards, for 25 wonderful years, their life together was a testament to their deep connection and shared dreams. Sheila’s legacy of love extends through her two children, Shaquita Stanley, lovingly called “Quita,” and Connors Stanley, known as “CJ,” as well as her three cherished stepchildren.
The joy Sheila brought into the world was amplified by her deep love for her granddaughter, Nyari Lopez. Her playful spirit and nurturing presence made every moment with her a treasure.
Sheila was the eldest daughter of Mary Ann Fields and Sylvester Emory Fields Sr. She leaves behind her loving mother, Mary Ann, and her siblings—Emory Fields and Tammu Tucker—who will forever hold dear the memories of their sister. Sheila was predeceased by her father and her beloved sister, Sharon Wells, both of whom she is now reunited with in peace.
A woman of remarkable warmth, Sheila was known for her caring nature and her role as the life of the party. Her love for cooking, hairstyling, dancing, and traveling were just some of the many ways she shared her zest for life with those around her. Her positive outlook and infectious enthusiasm were truly inspirational.
Sheila’s professional life was spent at Lacey Manufacturing, where her dedication and kindness made a lasting impact on her colleagues.
As we remember Sheila, we celebrate a life lived fully and generously. Her memory will forever be cherished by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her light, love, and laughter will continue to shine in our hearts.
Rest in peace, Sheila Annette Fields-Edwards. Your love has left an indelible mark on this world, and you will be deeply missed.
A celebration of Sheila’s life will be held on August 9, 2024 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Community Funeral Chapels 798 Park Ave. Bridgeport, CT 06604 Tel: 203-334-9999Service will be officiated by Rev. Glenn Pettway. Interment will be held privately.
