Santa Rosalina Rivera

Santa Rivera, fondly known as "Tata", passed away on January 7, 2024, at the age of 89 in Bridgeport, CT. Her life was an embodiment of compassion and selflessness, as she dedicated herself to helping others. Santa was a beloved mother and grandmother, cherished by all who knew her. She was the proud owner of J&S Mini Market, where she touched the lives of countless individuals in her community.

Born in Ciales, Puerto Rico, Santa leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness. She is survived by her daughters, Mariana Quiles and Crecencia Nieves(Wilfredo Nieves), as well as her raised nephews and niece, Meredy Roman, Juan Rivera, and Hector Rivera. Her memory lives on through her cherished grandchildren, Diana Melendez(Javier Melendez), Adriana Cote (Jonathan Cote), Jocelyn LaViera (Miguel LaViera), and Jose A Ramos Jr (Carolina Ramos), as well as her great-grandchildren.

Santa is preceded in death by her parents, sister Luz Maria Diaz , brother Hipólito Diaz,  and sister Carmen Rosario. She is survived by her siblings, Emilia Diaz and Naida Diaz, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Santa Rivera's impact on the lives of those around her will forever be remembered, and her spirit will continue to inspire acts of kindness and generosity.

Friends may greet the family on January 12, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Community Funeral Chapels, 798 Park avenue, Bridgeport, Connecticut 06604. Interment will follow at Mount St. Peter's cemetery, 219 New Haven Avenue, Derby, CT 06418.
