Roy Sastrom

Roy Sastrom, age 73, of Bridgeport entered into eternal peace in the early hours of Saturday, June 29, 2013 at the Ludlowe Center for Health and Rehabilitation in Fairfield, CT. Roy was born Wednesday, February 7th, 1940; he was raised in foster homes throughout Connecticut and was not reunited with his siblings, Howie and Josephine, until well into adulthood. Roy enjoyed horses, collecting horse statues and furniture refinishing, once finding a restoring a large table which he then hand painted with the American Flag. Intensely private and independent, Roy could often be found having a cup of coffee and a bite to eat with friends at Frankie's Diner, before heading home to watch Vanna White on Wheel of Fortune. Roy's stoic and steadfast presence will be missed by his friends and family. Estranged from his children, Roy is survived by his sister, Josephine Sastrom; his sister-in-law, Pat Sastrum and his nieces and nephews.
