Rowland Atcherly 'Rocky' Crowell Jr.

Rowland Atcherly Crowell Jr., "Rocky", age 73 entered into eternal rest Thursday, May 23rd, 2013 in his home in Bridgeport, CT with his loving family by his side. Rocky was born Friday, September 22nd, 1939 in Providence, RI the beloved only son of Sophia and Rowland A. Crowell Sr. As a young man Rocky enlisted in the Army and served overseas before returning home to the country he so proudly served. Trained as an auto mechanic, Rocky worked for many years as a truck mechanic and driver for Blackburn Brothers Trucking. A hard working and dedicated family man, Rocky was loyal and honest to a fault, he enjoyed watching NASCAR, listening to country music and speed, the faster the better, even building a racing car at one time. A "Stand up guy", Rocky's sense of humor and boundless goodwill ensured that he never met a stranger; he will be sorely missed by all whose lives he touched. Rocky is survived by his loving wife of eighteen years, Maria Crowell; his adoring children; son, Richard Reyes of Waterbury, CT, daughters; Viviana and Aliyah Crowell of Bridgeport; son, Miracle Crowell of Bridgeport; daughter, Sherry Murray of Rochester, NY and four adored grandchildren; Alyssa and Richard Reyes and Rebecca and Nathan Murray. Rocky also leaves to cherish his memories, his beloved sister, Suzanne Crowell of Maine and a host of extended family and friends in whose hearts Rocky will always live on.
