Robert 'Bob' Swinton

Robert "Bob" Swinton, age 80 of Bridgeport, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Bridgeport Health Care Center, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family. Robert was born October 26, 1937 in Kingstree, South Carolina, the beloved son of the late Mack & Elizabeth Swinton. In addition to his parents, Robert was predeceased by four siblings; George, Christine, Roberta and Alberta. Robert was a son, brother, cousin, uncle, father, grandfather, great grandfather,great great grandfather and friend to many. He always had a smile on his face and was happiest while spending time with his family. He was known as a jack of all trades and a terrific handyman. Robert drove school busses and was also a carpenter for many years. He was a kind, helpful man and will be missed deeply by all who had the honor of knowing him. Robert is survived by: three daughters, Regina Swinton (Richard Houston) of Bridgeport, Annette Swinton (John Dillard) of Bridgeport, Muriel Swinton (Dzephaniyan) of Georgia; son, Travis Swinton of South Carolina; sister, Lillian Randall of Florida; six brothers, Mack Swinton, Uylees Swinton of Bridgeport, James Swinton of North Carolina, Sam Swinton of Florida, Eddie Swinton of South Carolina, Jesse Jones of North Carolina; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter,and a host of extended family and friends who will cherish his memory. Friends may greet the family on Thursday, October 4, 2018 from 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm.
