Richard J. Kolvig

Richard J. Kolvig age 71, of Fairfield, beloved husband of Loretta D. Kolvig died peacefully on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Bridgeport Healthcare Center after a long battle of Alzheimer's. Richard was the son of the late Harold F. Kolvig and Mary Hozjan Kolvig. Richard proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. After his return from the war he worked at Carpenter Steel in Bridgeport. He was a member of the Bridgeport Motorcycle Association. He especially enjoyed riding with his best friends, Tom Drewelus and Bruce Bartlett. In addition to his wife Loretta, Richard is survived by his children, Debbie (Marty), Donna (Tony) and Richard (Heidi); nine grandchildren; brother Robert Kolvig & sister-in-law Nancy Kolvig of FL; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son David. Richard is also survived by his step children, Richard, Jennifer, Todd and Julie. Richard dearly loved his whole family.
