Richard Earl Houston, aged 64, of Bridgeport, beloved spouse of Regina Houston, peacefully entered into eternal rest on April 7, 2024 at Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Tuskegee, Alabama, Richard was the son of the late Mary Houston. He was raised alongside two siblings and later joined the United States Army, where he traveled extensively and lived in various states including Alabama, New York, Maryland, and Connecticut.
Richard was known for his helpful nature, kindness, and remarkable sense of humor. He found joy in simple pleasures, such as watching old movies and sports, discussing politics, and most importantly, sharing a slice of pizza while gazing at the water with his cherished wife, Regina.
Richard was predeceased by his brother, Brian Franklin and father-in-law Robert Swinton.
He is survived by his loving wife, Regina; devoted sister, Jane & brother-in-law, Derek Lopez; mother-in-law Catherine Swinto; stepchildren, Marcell (Carlos) Matteo, Nikki ( Andrew) Keating, and Tremaine McCray; nephews, Derek Houston and Victor Houston; 4 grandchildren, Shaquawn, Janiya, Michael, and Zianna; and 2 great-grandchildren Leilani and Harmony. He also leaves behind a host of extended family and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Richard will be remembered for his warmth, generosity, and zest for life. His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the love and fond memories he leaves behind.
