Reinaldo Miguel Heredia

Reinaldo Miguel Heredia, known lovingly as "Rey," of Bridgeport, Connecticut, passed away peacefully at home on April 28, 2025, at the age of 58.

Born on October 7, 1966, in Utuado, Puerto Rico, Rey was one of sixteen siblings born to the late Octavio Heredia Ramos and Carmen Julia Colon Acevedo. He was proud of his Puerto Rican roots and often dreamed of returning to the countryside near a lake, where he could fish, breathe the fresh air, and enjoy life with a horse and dog by his side.

Rey was a man who embraced the simple joys of life. He loved taking long walks, going on car rides, working out, listening to music, and spending time in nature. Feeding birds and squirrels at the park brought him peace, and he found comfort in the everyday beauty around him.

Though Rey had no children of his own, he shared a deep and loving bond with his niece, Lisa Marie Rivera, who was like a daughter to him. Their relationship was one of mutual love, respect, and unwavering support.

He is survived by his beloved siblings: Nancy Cortez Heredia, Samia María Heredia, Rosalina Heredia, Evelyn Heredia, Nilsa Heredia, Mildred Heredia, Lourdes Heredia, and Edwin Heredia. He was predeceased by his siblings Angel Antonio Heredia, Wilfredo Heredia, Jose Leonides Heredia, Hiram Orlando Heredia, Nydia Heredia, and Jannette Heredia.

Rey will be remembered for his kind heart, his gentle spirit, and the love he shared with his family—especially his many nieces and nephews who cherished him deeply. His memory will live on in their hearts, and in the stories and smiles he leaves behind.

A private family gathering will be held to honor his life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages those who knew Rey to take a walk in nature, feed the birds, or simply enjoy a quiet moment—just as he would have.
