Reginald Bruce Hargett

Reginald "Bruce" Hargett, age 76, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at Hamden Health Care in Hamden, CT. Reginald was born June 16, 1941 in East Lyme, CT., the son of the late Lora (Green) Hargett and Ike Cones. He was raised in Bridgeport and resided there most of his life, but relocated to Hamden several years ago. Reginald proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1962-1967 and was honorably discharged. He later worked for the United States Postal Service for many years before his retirement. Reginald was a kind person and the first to offer support to anyone in need. He had many close friends that will miss him dearly. Reginald had a true love for tennis and enjoyed playing, coaching, and mentoring others. He received numerous awards and recognitions for all that he gave to the tennis community in both Bridgeport and New Haven. Reginald was predeceased by his brothers, Donald and Melvin Hargett. Reginald is survived by his sister, Vera Nichols of Bridgeport, and a host of extended family and friends who will cherish his memory.
