Providencia Hernandez Providencia Hernandez, age 88, of Bridgeport, entered into peaceful rest on Tuesday, April 3rd, 2012 at Bridgeport Hospital, with her loving family by her side. Providencia was born March 4th, 1924, in Isabela, Puerto Rico to Evangelita Rosa and Catalina Martinez. She was fourth of eight siblings. Providencia was the life of the party. She enjoyed dancing, joking and making everyone feel at home. She was married to Cefelino Hernandez, a strong mother of nine, survived by: Cruz Dumeng, Angel Vargas, Santa Vargas, Mariana Vargas, Carmen Vargas, Ana Vargas, William Vargas (Nancy), Marisol Vargas and 44 grandchildren. Providencia is now reunited with her predeceased son Santo Vargas, grandson William M. Vargas. She was the greatest mother and grandmother. She cared, raised and fed everyone that came through her door. She will be deeply missed. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 10th, 2012 commencing at Community Funeral Chapels from 9:30am to 10:30am following to St. Peter's Church, 695 Colorado Ave., BPT, for 11:00am mass. Interment will follow to Park Cemetery, 620 Lindley Street Bridgeport, CT. Friends may greet the family Monday, April 9th, 2012 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm in the Community Funeral Chapels, 798 Park Avenue, Bridgeport.
