Orlando 'Panda' Maldonado Sr.

Orlando Maldonado, Sr., the devoted husband of Iris Maldonado, passed into heavenly rest at the age of 69 on March 10, 2023 in Bridgeport Hospital. Born July 19, 1953 in Barranquitas, Puerto Rico, to his loving parents Juan Maldonado and Maria Ortega, Orlando was one of thirteen children. Orlando was affectionately known as "Panda, Sr.", warm and loving. When Orlando was six, his family moved to Bridgeport, Connecticut. Orlando was a proud provider; he worked at various companies, generous even when times were tough, he always worked to make sure there was enough to go around. His favorite pastimes were watching the Patriots, listening to music, and walks with his brother to Dunkin Donuts. Orlando was a devoted Christian with a kind caring servant's heart he was deeply involved in the community, he didn't just talk but dedicated his time to help others along the righteous path of everlasting peace and love through the mighty word of Jesus Christ. Orlando brought hope and spiritual support to many including the incarcerated and the young boys and men of the Royal Rangers. Orlando was a loving son, brother, cousin, uncle, spouse, father, mentor, and friend. Orlando is predeceased by his parents, Juan and Maria; his sisters, Cholita and Margarita, and his brothers, Tonio and Angelo. He is survived by: wife, Iris; children, Lenette, Orlando Jr., Jacob, Dorothy; brothers, Carlos, John, Frank; sisters, Isabel, Millita, Maria, Evelyn; grandchildren, Daniela, Josiah Maldonado and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends that will continue to honor and cherish his memory. Friends may greet the family Tuesday, March 21, 2023 from 11:00am to 12:00pm. A Christian Funeral Service will proceed from 12:00pm to 1:00pm all at the Church of Christ 240 Hamilton St. Bridgeport, CT. 06608. Interment will follow to Mt.
