Onoria Josefina Almerida Martinez

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Onoria Josefina Almerida Martinez, who departed this life on December 23, 2024, at Bridgeport Hospital in Bridgeport, Connecticut. She was 65 years old.

Onoria was born on October 20, 1959, in Aragua de Barcelona, estado Anzoátegui, Venezuela to the late Jesus Maria Martinez (born March 3, 1934) and Avelino Almerida (born February 2, 1913). She was the loving sister to Maria Martinez, Carmen Martinez, Aurelio Almerida, Juan Almerida, Luis Martinez, Magalis Martinez, and Yolanda Martinez. Onoria vivió la mayor parte de su vida en Valencia, estado Carabobo, Venezuela.

In life Onoria always had a positive attitude, she was smart, brave, and strong. Onoria found immense joy in being a devoted Mother, daughter, sister, and aunt. She was deeply cherished by her family, who were the center of her world. Onoria's love for her family was evident in every aspect of her life, and she worked tirelessly to support and care for those she loved.

Recently, Onoria faced a fierce and courageous battle against a serious illness, showing strength and resilience in the face of great adversity. Despite the struggles, she never wavered in her faith, and she found comfort in the belief that one day she would be reunited with her loved ones in heaven.

Her life, though marked by hardships, was a testament to the power of love, faith, and determination. Onoria’s gentle spirit, kind heart, and unyielding devotion to her family will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Onoria has gone on to be with the Lord, finding peace and eternal rest. Though her presence will be greatly missed, her memory will live on forever in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

She is survived by her daughter María Fernanda Gómez Almerida, her siblings, nieces, nephews, and many other relatives who will always remember her with love and admiration. May Onoria’s soul rest in eternal peace.
