Nydia E. Soto, age 91, of Bridgeport, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Aguirre, Puerto Rico, Nydia relocated to Connecticut at the age of 30, where she built a beautiful life rooted in faith, love, and resilience. She was the devoted wife of the late Candido Soto. As strong as she was, Nydia independently raised her large and loving family.
Nydia was the proud mother of nine children: Elizabeth, Myrna, Nilda, Nancy, Wilfreda, Orlando, Edgar, Junior, and Hector. Her children were the joy of her life, and she nurtured each one with unwavering love, strength, and compassion.
She was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Ida Sanchez.
A woman of many talents, Nydia worked both at a bank and as a house cleaner, always striving to support her family with dignity and grace. Her work ethic was only matched by her deep generosity of spirit.
Nydia will be remembered for her supportive and kind heart, her thoughtfulness, and her boundless love. She was strong, caring, and always present for those in need. A woman of deep faith, her belief in God guided her every step and inspired those around her.
She loved dancing, playing cards, dominoes, and bingo — always bringing joy, laughter, and light into every room she entered. Her vibrant energy and warm smile will never be forgotten.
Nydia E. Soto leaves behind a powerful legacy of love, strength, and faith. She touched many lives and will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the blessing of knowing her.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 17th, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Community Funeral Chapels, 798 Park Ave., Bridgeport, CT 06604. Family and friends are invited to celebrate her remarkable life and honor the beautiful memories she leaves behind.
