Nelson Rivera

Nelson Rivera, age 63 of Oklahoma City, OK., entered into eternal rest on August 5, 2017 in St. Vincent's Medical Center, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family. Nelson was born May 17, 1954 in Bridgeport, CT., the beloved son of the late Eladio Rivera Sr. and surviving Carmen (Hernandez) Rivera. Nelson was a true entertainer with a passion for music, especially bass guitar. Nelson even played along the famous La Fania. He also enjoyed all things science fiction. Nelson will be remembered for his great sense of humor and how generous and kind he was. He always had a smile on his face and loved to make others laugh. Besides his father, Nelson was predeceased by his wife, Hope Rivera. Nelson is survived by: son; Nelson Rivera Jr. of OK, daughter; Joanel & son-in-law George Cruz of Florida, siblings; Larry Rivera of Bridgeport, Edwin & Malida Rivera of Bridgeport, Jimmy Rivera of Bridgeport, Eladio Jr. & Eunice Rivera of Naugautick; David & Judy Rivera of Bridgeport, Linda Rose Rivera, 7 grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends who will honor his memory.
