Miriam Rivera, age 71, of Bridgeport, beloved spouse of Jose Enrique Cruz, passed away on April 9, 2024, at Bridgeport Hospital. Born on November 24, 1952, in Jayuya, Puerto Rico, Miriam was the cherished daughter of Ramona and Ernesto Rivera.
Growing up with 10 siblings, Miriam learned the value of family early on, a sentiment she carried throughout her life. She was a loving mother to three children, doting grandmother to 10 grandchildren, and proud great-grandmother to five great-grandchildren. Miriam found immense joy in spending time at home surrounded by her family, and her presence was the glue that bound them together.
Known for her infectious energy and vibrant spirit, Miriam was always the life of the party. She had a passion for singing and dancing, bringing joy to those around her with her lively tunes and graceful moves. To know Miriam was to love her, as she exuded happiness, health, and love in every aspect of her life.
Miriam is survived by: spouse, Jose Enrique Cruz; children, Sandra, Jose, Yajaira Cruz; siblings, Judith, Wanda, Nereida, Julio, Aladino, Carlos, Jose, Efrain, Sergio, Cesar Rivera; and a host of extended family and friends that will cherish her memory .
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Community Funeral Chapels, located at 798 Park Ave., Bridgeport, CT 06604. Services and interment will be held privately.
