Miguelina 'Doa Gladys' Ortiz-Travieso

Miguelina "Doa Gladys" Ortiz-Travieso, age 93 of Bridgeport, CT, beloved wife of the late Pedro Torres Garcia, entered into eternal rest on Monday, July 3, 2017 at St. Vincent's Medical Center, surrounded by the love and support of her family. Miguelina was born in Puerto Rico on January 26, 1924. She was a loving, generous and great servant mother and grandmother. Doa Gladys was very outgoing and always had a smile on her face. She loved dancing and partying to her favorite music. Doa Gladys was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. She was well known for her signature red lips and her love of gardening and flowers; especially roses. Besides her husband, Pedro, she was predeceased by: 3 children; Pedro Juan Torres, Milagros Torres, Miguel Angel Torres; and 2 siblings; Miguel Ortiz, Francisca Ortiz. Miguelina is survived by: 2 children; Mario Marcano Ortiz, Maria Cintron; 16 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren; more than 40 godchildren and a host of extended friends and family who will honor her memory.
