Michael R. Brooks left this world unexpectedly on March 7, 2021. Born in Bridgeport, he was the son of the late Hazel Parker Polite and Nathaniel Brooks. Michael was raised in Bridgeport and a graduate of Central High School. He started his career as a bus driver for the Chestnut Hill Bus Company. He moved on and enjoyed his time as a bus driver for 43 years for the Greater Bridgeport Transit Authority. During his time at GBTA, Michael's smile and positive attitude affected many lives daily during his route and co-workers. Michael enjoyed sports and played basketball during his high school years. He was a life-long fan of the New York Giants and UCONN Huskies Women's Basketball. He loved to talk and debate about anything and everything (sports, politics, history, current events). When Michael was not working he enjoyed all kinds of music, running (he ran a few marathons), exercising, tennis and reading. Michael was a loving and caring man who enjoyed giving advice to others. Michael will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Michael was predeceased by both his parents. Michael leaves to cherish his memory, daughter, Tamara Brooks (Shelley Gallimore), son, Michael Brooks (Abby Wiener). One sister, Patricia Booker, Nephews, Anthony and Jason Booker, an Aunt, Selma Austin, cousin/brother, Gregory Artis. A grandson, Glen Fountain, grand-daughter, Ramika Fountain and a host of cousins, friends and relatives.
