Mercedes Gomez age 81, of Bridgeport, CT; the life companion of Angel Molina; passed into heavenly rest on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Bridgeport Hospital with her loving family by her side. Mercedes was born on May 14, 1940 in Cayey, Puerto Rico the beloved daughter of the late Aurelio Lopez & Carmen Morales. Mercedes was affectionately known as Maria. Besides her parents Mercedes was predeceased by 2 sons, Luis Sanchez and Edlmiro Gomez. Mercedes Gomez was joyful, vibrant, loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed tending to her garden, playing bingo, going to the casino, as well as cooking and vacationing with her family. Mercedes always had a sparkle in her eyes when she was surrounded by her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be sorely missed by her friends and family. Mercedes is survived by: sons, Cristino & daughter-in-law Brenda Gomez, Ricardo & daughter-in-law Carmen Gomez, Oscar & daughter-in-law Ana Gomez; daughter, Lizzette & son-in-law Jose Echevarria; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren extended family and friends that will cherish Maria's memory.
