Melody “Mel” McCullough, age 57, of Bridgeport, Connecticut, entered eternal rest on May 7, 2025, at Bridgeport Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 16, 1967, in Florence, South Carolina, she was the beloved daughter of the late Blondell Brown and Lewis Curdell Graham.
Melody was raised in Bridgeport, where she made her home for 54 years. Known for her infectious laughter, larger-than-life personality, and kind heart, Mel brought joy to every room she entered. She was truly the life of the party—funny, spirited, and full of love. Melody had a special gift for dancing and a deep passion for caring for children. Her warmth and nurturing nature touched countless lives throughout her community.
She was the devoted wife of the late Leroy McCullough, and a loving mother to her four children: Janay Moore, Dominique Brown, Blondell Brown, and Jerry Bridgeforth. Melody also leaves behind 14 cherished grandchildren, her siblings Kisha Brown, Cedric Brown, and Chaneke Graham, as well as 4 nieces, 3 nephews, and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins who will miss her dearly.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her great-grandmother Bessie Graham, and her grandmothers Edna Nixon and Comuel G. Jackson.
