Mary Ann Mendes, age 60, a lifelong resident of Bridgeport, CT., was called home on Monday, February 5, 2018. Mary Ann was born December 10, 1957 in Bridgeport, CT the beloved daughter of late Morris Mendes & Rose Destefano. Mary Ann was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, aunt, sister, great-grandmother, and friend to many. She loved her family more than anything. Mary Ann always had a smile of an angel and jokes for days. She loved to have a great time with those she loved. Mary Ann always lent a helping hand in any way she could. She was very outspoken, ambitious, and feisty. She was tough on the exterior but as sweet as candy on the inside. To know her was definitely to love her. In addition to her parents, Morris & Rose, Mary Ann was predeceased by: three brothers, Charles Mendes, David Mendes, Luis Mendes; sister, Theresa Mendes; grandmother, Pinky Mendes. Mary Ann leaves to cherish her memory: husband of 41 years, Elroy Brown; three daughters, Mary Mendes Rodriguez (Michael), Denise Mendes Fields (Emory), Monique Mendes Foster (Perry); six sisters; Geraldine Allen (John), Constance McClean (Curtis), Lisa Alhabal (Ali), Rose Bebok, Barbara Smith, Patricia Ivey (Edgar); three brothers, Alan Morello (Sherry), Morris Mendes, Phillip Mendes; nine grandchildren, Emory Fields Jr., Chris Mendes, Sierra Mendes, Chasity Thomas, Heaven Thomas, Savaya Rucker, Aniyah Laurel, Nazarie Laurel, Sincere Foster; soon-to-be-born great-grandchild, Anthony Holmes Jr. Friends may greet the family on February 23, 2018 from 11am-12pm.
