Marjorie Kathleen Dixon Fletcher, age 75, of Bridgeport, the widow of Marcus Raphael Fletcher, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 15, 2022, at her home in Bridgeport, CT. Marjorie was born on June 15, 1947 in Warsop Trelawny, Jamaica, West Indies. She was the beloved daughter of the late Samuel & Imogene Dixon. Marjorie was affectionately known as Dee. She grew up on a farm and loved it but spoke often about the hardships and responsibilities she faced as the firstborn. Dee often told stories of being called away from school to help her father on the farm. Marjorie enjoyed knitting for family and friends, she often sang gospel and was kind and helpful to all in need. Marjorie was admitted to the Jamaica Commercial Academy, West Indies, where she studied Typing, Shorthand, and English, she graduated in 1964. Marjorie migrated to the United States in 1985 where she lived, studied, worked, and enjoyed herself to the fullest in her own special and spiritual quiet way. She attended Pace Business School in Yonkers, NY; graduated in 1988 with a certification in Data Entry. In 2004 Marjorie worked for Einstein Montefiore Hospital in Nursing, where she cared and often sang to her patients, until July 31, 2012, when she retired. In addition to being a wonderful mother and grandmother, Marjorie was a caring, loving, and selfless person. She loved spending time with her children and grandchild, she was happiest when they were around her. The motto of her life was sometimes coffee, sometimes tea with a bit of cinnamon chip is occasionally added to spice life. Marjorie "Dee" Dixon Fletcher is survived by: 4 children, daughter Andrea Fletcher, son Patrick Fletcher, daughter Karen Fletcher, daughter Samantha Fletcher; grandson Jovare Thevenin; nephew Jonathan Maxwell; 3 sisters, Myra, Jennifer, and Erica Dixon; 2 brothers, Renford and Reinford Dixon. Many more nephews and nieces as well as her dear precious family members and friends. Marjorie Fletcher was and is a blessing to her family, and her community, and her kindness and loving heart will surely live on through her children. May she rest in Eternal Peace. Friends may greet the family Saturday, October 8th 2022 from 8:30 am to 9:30 am; A Mass of Christian Burial will proceed from 9:30am to 10:30 am at Grace Episcopal Church 33 Church St. White Plains, NY. 10601. Interment will follow by a horse and drain carriage to White Plains Rural Cemetery 167 N. Broadway White Plains, NY 10603.
