Maritza Nuez

Maritza Nuez, age 53, of Bridgeport, passed into heavenly rest Sunday, November 13, 2022 in St. Raphael's Hospital in New Haven, CT. Maritza's parents were originally from Aguadilla and Vega Baja, Puerto Rico. On August 18, 1969 in Bridgeport, CT. William Nuez Sr. & Zoraida Arocho Nuez welcomed their beloved daughter Maritza Nuez into this world. She was the youngest of three and was affectionately known as Titi. Maritza was raised in FPV Bldg. 8 Apt. 208; she attended Bridgeport public schools including Warren Harding High School. Maritza worked at Stop and Shop for many years. She enjoyed watching movies and being with family, her parents taught her many Puerto Rican traditions especially not to waste food. She would remind others not to waste any food because people are starving in the world. Maritza was thoughtful, a loving daughter, sister, mother, aunt, cousin, and friend. Maritza was predeceased by her mother Zoraida Arocho Nuez. Maritza is survived by: father, William Nuez Sr; son, Elijah Lee Dontrell Lewis Sr.(fianc Shakira S. Spearman); brother, William Nuez Jr. (Stephanie D. Nunez); sister, Sonia Nuez (Dennis Dickerson); 3 grandchildren, Elijah Lee Dontrell Lewis Jr., Kayvon Lee Lewis, Gregory M. Allen; 2 nieces, Siobhan E. Nuez, Sapphire B. Dickerson; 2 nephews, William Nuez III, Isaac D. Dickerson; and a host of great nieces, nephews and extended family that will cherish Titi's memory. Friends may greet the family Saturday, November 26, 2022 from 11:00am to 12:00pm.
