Maria Margarita Ortiz

Maria Margarita Ortiz, age 90, of Bridgeport, the widow of Jose D. Rosario, entered into peaceful rest on Monday, September 10th 2018 at Ludlow Rehabilitation Center in Fairfield. Maria was born January 6th 1928 in Barranquitas, Puerto Rico, the beloved daughter of the late Luis & Margarita Ortiz. Maria was a loving sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Maria was the strong-willed matriarch of her family. She worked hard to provide for her children and make sure they were taken care of. Maria was very kind and enjoyed helping others. She will be remembered most for her wonderful homemade meals and the love that she shared for her family. Maria is survived by her: son, Jose L. Rosario & daughter-in-law Maria Aponte of Bridgeport; daughter, Milagros and son-in-law Idelfanzo Cartagena of Bridgeport; daughter, Hilda Rosario & son-in-law Nelson R. Berrios of Puerto Rico; four siblings, Manuel Ortiz, Antonia Ortiz, Maria M. Ortiz, Maria E. Ortiz; six grandchildren, Rosemary Rosario, Jeffery Rosario, Juan Carlos Cartagena, Karina Cartagena, Rafael Jose Berrios, Omar Berrios; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends who will cherish her memory.
