In Loving Memory of Maria (Sarita) Ceballos March 20, 1941 – June 19, 2025.
With hearts full of sorrow, yet uplifted by gratitude and hope, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and faithful daughter of God—Maria “Sarita” Ceballos. She was called home to her eternal rest on June 19, 2025, at Yale New Haven Hospital, at the age of 84.
Born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, Maria was the treasured daughter of Felipe Rivera and Filomena Vasquez. She later made her home in Bridgeport, Connecticut, where she lived a life of strength and humility—first in Father Panik Village, Building 8, and later, for more than two decades, in the close-knit community of Fairfield Gardens.
Maria was a woman of deep and unshakable faith. Her life reflected the quiet strength of a soul anchored in God's promises. Whether working diligently as a machine operator at Mikron and Prime, or simply offering a listening ear and a warm smile to those around her, Sarita lived to serve others. Her labor was not only in her work, but in her boundless love—for her family, her friends, her neighbors, and even strangers. Her heart gave endlessly, even as her hands grew tired.
To know Maria was to witness the grace of God made visible. Through every hardship, every trial, she would remind us all with calm certainty: “God is still good.” Her faith was her compass, her strength, her legacy—and we believe she has now heard the most beautiful words of all:
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
Maria leaves behind a family who will forever carry her love in their hearts: her cherished children Rosa Ceballos, Nestor (Jasmine) Rivera, and Luis (Cecilia) Rivera; her grandchildren Jose Rivera, Joanni Rodriguez, Vianca Rivera, Natasha Rivera, Bryanna Tindall, Anthony Lozada, Nathaniel Rivera, Grace Tindall, and Samuel Rivera; and her great-grandchildren Meliodas Council and Omar Reyes.
Though we ache with her absence, we take comfort knowing she is now rejoicing in the presence of her Savior—free from pain, embraced in perfect peace.
Mom, your love shaped our lives. Your prayers protected us. Your faith inspired us.
Until we see you again—rest in the arms of Jesus.
With all our love,
Rosie, Nes, and Luigi
