Manuel "Chaplin" Rivera Manuel "Chaplin" Rivera, age 65, of Brideport, entered into heavenly rest Sunday July 25th, 2010, at St Vincent Medical Center, with his loving family by his side. Manuel was an avid member of St. Augustine Cathedral. He dedicated over 20 years helping children as a baseball coach in Bridgeport for the Christian Brotherhood League and Tetelo Bargus League. Manuel also worked in sales for Tri-Suzuki and has since retired. Manuel was born December 16th, 1944 in Arecibo, Puerto Rico to the late Manifacio and Amalia Rivera; survived by four brothers: Saul Rivera, Hector Luis Rivera, Luis Rivera, Jose Heriberto Rivera, two sisters: Carmen Alicia Rivera, Sol Amparo Rivera. Manuel came to the United States 39 years ago with his beloved wife Luz Rivera. Manuel is survived by: daughter Amalia Rivera, son Angel & daughter-in-law Carmen Rivera and pre-deceased son Hector Rivera, five grandchildren; Aaron, Angeline, Priscilla, Karen and Loren Rivera. Friends may greet the family Thursday, July 29th, 2010 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Community Funeral Chapels, 798 Park Avenue Bridgeport. A mass of Christian Burial held Friday, July 30th, 2010 at 8:30 am in St. Patrick Parish, 851 North Avenue Bridgeport. Interment will follow to Lakeview Cemetery, 880 Boston Avenue, Bridgeport.
