Mackeba Tiena 'Mooch' Cruz

Mackeba "Mooch" Tiena Cruz, age 36 of New Haven, entered into eternal rest on Monday, August 14, 2017. Mackeba was born on March 27, 2017, the beloved daughter of the late Nancy Cruz & John Lomax. Mooch, as she was affectionately known, was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York and loved her city. As a child she attended P.S. 190, George Gershwin Junior High School, and later graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. Mooch didn't have much of a filter, and those who knew her knew she told it like it was. Mooch had a great sense of humor and was known to be the life of any event. She loved her family & friends, and took exceptional care of all of the children in her life. She was predeceased by her brother, Domencio John. Mooch will be missed deeply and her presence will remain with those who knew her. Mooch leaves to mourn; sister, Fatima Lomax & brother-in-law June; sister, Jenise Cruz; sister, Shaneque Ramsey; nephews, Jahard, Jahwan, Anthony, Domencio; niece, Shawn; and a host of extended family and friends who will cherish her memory.
