Leon Alexander Thompson

Leon A. Thompson, age 59, of Bridgeport, passed into heavenly rest on Tuesday, September 5th, 2023, in the comfort of his home.

Leon was born on March 7th, 1964, in Mandeville, Jamaica. The beloved son of the late Maureen Williams and Rodney A. Thompson.

Leon was a loving father, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend to many. He was committed to his work, his children, and the rest of his family. No one had a bigger heart than Leon, who shared his abundance of joy with everyone close to him. He was, by all accounts, a thoughtful man. He had a delightful warm presence and a contagious smile. He liked going to the beach, driving by the water, fishing in lakes, and hanging out with his friends in the garage. He enjoyed listening to reggae music, reading, cooking, traveling, and spending time with family and loved ones in New York. He loved to laugh and to help those around him however he could.

Leon is survived by his four children, Tyler Maignan-Thompson, Ashlee Maignan-Thompson, Alex Maignan-Thompson, and Ayana Maignan-Thompson; his four siblings, Christopher Thompson, Janice Powell, Rohan Johnson, and Velora Lodge; his three nieces, Channele Johnson, Jolene King, and Nadia Wanliss; his two nephews, Steve Wanliss and Dwight Wanliss; his grand-nephews Shanrick Mullings, Kaiden King, Kyle King, Aiden Wanliss, Dwight Wanliss and many more family and friends that will cherish his memory forever. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
