Lawrence Nelson Medas, age 78 of Bridgeport, husband of Lucille (King) Medas, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, January 18, 2017. Lawrence was born on December 16, 1938 in Guyana, the son of the late Alicia Medas. He was the proud owner and operator of "Medas Moving & Overseas Shipping", and "Guarantee Shipping" for over 40 years. He also worked as a naval captain for the Merchant Marine. In his free time he enjoyed playing dominos and watching boxing. Lawrence is survived by: wife of over 44 years, Lucille Medas; son, George Medas of Brooklyn, NY; son, Lawrence Medas Jr. & daughter-in-law, Clydene of Brooklyn, NY; son, Sebastian Tobias King of Brooklyn, NY; son, Cornelius "Neal" Medas & daughter-in-law, Karen of Bridgeport, CT; 16 grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends to cherish his memory. Friends may greet the family, Friday January 27, 2017 from 8:30-9:30am. A procession will follow to Mountain Grove Cemetery, 2675 North Avenue, Bridgeport, CT 06604. The memorial service will be held in Brooklyn New York at the Philadelphia Church 530 Eastern Parkway, Brooklyn, NY 11225 on January 29, 2017 at 1pm. Repass to be announced.
