Larry Rivera

Larry Rivera, age 69, of Bridgeport, CT, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2024, at St. Vincent's Hospital.

Born on May 20, 1955, to the late Carmen Rivera and Eladio Rivera, Larry was raised in Bridgeport alongside his six siblings. He graduated from Central High School and went on to build a fulfilling career and life in his beloved community. Larry dedicated 30 years of service to Casco as a products inspector and data analyst. He further served his community by working for six years as a custodian at St. Ann's School and for 17 years as the facility supervisor at the United Methodist Church. His dedication to his work was matched only by his commitment to his family and hobbies. Larry was a man of many talents and interests. He found joy in gardening, event decorating, music, art, cooking, and baking. His creativity and passion for these hobbies enriched the lives of those around him and brought beauty and joy to many occasions.

Larry is survived by his siblings Edwin Rivera and his wife Melida Rivera, Jimmy Rivera, Eladio Rivera Jr. and his wife Eunice Rivera, David Rivera and his wife Judy Rivera, Linda Rivera-Velez and her husband Luis Velez. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his sibling, Nelson Rivera.

Larry’s warmth, kindness, and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of love, hard work, and creativity will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

A Home Going Celebration officiated by Rev. Abelardo Vasquez will proceed at 12:00pm  at Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Church 391 Ogden St, Bridgeport, CT 06608.
