Julio Figueroa Jr.

Julio "Junior" Figueroa Jr., age 78, of Bridgeport, CT the spouse of 60 years Maria Barbosa Figueroa, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 28, 2021 in his home in Bridgeport with his loving family by his side. Julio was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, May 22, 1943, the son of late Julio Figueroa Sr. and Virginia Soto. He was one of 19 siblings. Julio was a loving son, brother, companion, father, uncle, cousin, and friend. Julio was a dedicated husband and provider. He worked in manufacturing for many years, retiring from the Bullard Steel Company after a back injury. Julio had a caring heart and loved spending time with family and friends. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grand and great-grandchildren. In his young days in Puerto Rico, he loved raising roosters and going to cock fights. He also enjoyed salsa music, playing domino, and the sports of boxing and baseball. He was a huge Yankee fan. Julio is survived by his: wife, Maria Barbosa Figueroa; daughters, Maria & son-in-law Isaac Alicea, Brenda & son-in-law Ricardo "Chino" Moreno, Julie Figueroa, Marangeli Figueroa; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
