Julie Nastasia, 49, of Bridgeport, Connecticut, passed away peacefully at her home on February 9, 2026.

Julie was born on January 28, 1977, at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Bridgeport, Connecticut, to Elizabeth Szechenyi and the late Michael Nastasia. She was raised in Bridgeport and remained deeply connected to the community she called home throughout her life.

Julie had a heart that loved without limits. She cared deeply for everyone around her and was known for her big heart, kind spirit, and unforgettable personality. She was loud in the best way — full of laughter, humor, and honesty. She was fiercely supportive of those she loved and always showed up for her family, especially at her son’s sporting events and in the everyday moments that mattered most.

Early in her life, Julie worked in the nursing field, where she dedicated herself to caring for others, including special needs and disabled children. She later worked in customer service roles, always bringing compassion and warmth to those she served. Outside of work, she enjoyed music, playing poker online, spending time with her grandchildren, and being with her beloved dog, Brownie.

Julie’s greatest pride and joy were her children: Samantha Sanchez, Sabrina Pantoja, and Jerry Torres Jr. She was a devoted and loving grandmother to Yasmin Ramos and Alaya Carrion, who brought endless light into her life. She treasured every moment spent with them.

She was predeceased by her father, Michael Nastasia. She is survived by her three children, her two cherished grandchildren, her brother, and many other family members and friends who loved her dearly.

Julie also shared an unbreakable bond with her beloved dog, Brownie, who passed alongside her on February 9, 2026. Their companionship was constant and full of love, and there is comfort in knowing they were together.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Community Funeral Chapels, 798 Park Avenue, Bridgeport, Connecticut 06604, on Friday, February 20th, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

A horse and carriage procession with her casket will take place at 3:30 p.m., traveling to her home and returning to the funeral home — a final tribute to the place she loved most.

Julie “Jewelz” Nastasia will be remembered for her strength, her laughter, her loyalty, and the deep love she gave so freely. Though her time here was far too short, the impact she made on those around her will live on forever.
