Juan V. Villanueva

Juan Villanueva, affectionately known as “Chivo” age 89 of Stratford, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2024, in Stratford. Born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, in 1935, Juan moved to Bridgeport, Connecticut, at a young age where he was raised alongside his four siblings: Miguel, Julio, William, and Olga. He was predeceased by his siblings and his parents.

A social and athletic man, Juan enjoyed playing baseball and dominoes, sharing his competitive spirit with friends and family. He worked as a dedicated machinist at Bridgeport Machines for many years, contributing to the community with his strong work ethic.

Juan is survived by his children, Marion Otero, Orlando, Carmen Ortiz, Carlos, Marlin Martinez, and Juanita Villanueva, as well as his cherished grandchildren Frankie Cortez Jr., Mariann Perez, Angelle Perez, Virgilio Sosa III, Darryl Sosa, Alyssa Martinez, Alina Martinez, Levy Otero and great grandchildren Jayden Perez, Ilias Barbosa, Layla Sosa, Virgilio Sosa IV, Ilana Bedford, Mateo Sosa, a few nieces and nephews, and many close friends that will cherish his memory forever.
