Juan Ramon 'Ray' Rivera

Juan Ramon Rivera, age 52, of Derby, CT resident since 2015, formerly of Bridgeport, Connecticut passed away Monday, July 25, 2022 at Yale New Haven Hospital. Juan was born February 21, 1970 in Arecibo, Puerto Rico to Guillermina Vega and Juan Rivera. Juan was affectionately known as Ray, he was raised in Hartford, CT. His hobbies consisted of the three things he loved most: spending time with his family and friends, baseball, a Patriots fan and a car enthusiast. He was a part of the following car clubs Redline Racing, One of a Kind, Millennium Joker, Ray was founder and president of Inner Circle and Twisted Joker. Ray was a loving father and provider of12 children. He formerly worked at Bridgeport Lobster & Shellfish as a driver, worked for USA Taxi in Stamford, and Mayflower, he was deemed disabled in 2001. He was predeceased by his father Juan Rivera and daughter Amelyz Luz Rivera-Avila. Ray is survived by: spouse, Antoneta Avila; 12 children, Iesha Rivera (Jeyco), Shanice Rivera (Mike), Devin Melicio (Erika), Tiffany Rivera (Tiffany), Carolina Rivera (Carlos), Juan "Juni" Rivera, Cesar Rivera (Thalia), Raymond "Ray Ray" Rivera, Juan "Bebo" Rivera, Misael Rivera; step-daughter, Melia Hine, Lubna Avila; 12 grandchildren, Aliah, Nahiara, Mikaela, Emmanuel, Cattleya, Carlos, Eliza, Ailani, Jayden, Jayco, Leilani, Mayah, step-grandson Nathaniel De La Rosa; 6 siblings, Luis Gonzalez, Carmen Cordero, Manuel Crespo, Elizabeth Crespo (Neftali), Maribel Rivera, Daisy Rivera; extended family and friends that will keep his memory forever.
