Josefa "Pepita" Quintero, age 87 of Bridgeport, the devoted wife of Leopoldo Mercado for 40 years, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at her home with her loving family by her side. Josefa was born August 10, 1929, in Camuy, Puerto Rico, the oldest of four to the late Floiran & Josefa Rodriguez. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother with a captivating smile. Josefa was predeceased by her siblings; Bartolo Rodriguez, Maria Antonia Rodriguez, Miguel Angel Rodriguez and son-in-law Mislael Cruz. Josefa is survived by: daughter, Norma Juarbe; son, Noel & daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Quintero; son, Antonio "Tony" & daughter -in-law Judy Quintero; 7 grandchildren, Jeannette Vega, Gilberto Juarbe Jr., Michael Juarbe, Noel Quintero Jr., Ryan Quintero, Daniel Quintero, Gabriel Quintero; 3 great-grandchildren, Sapphyre Juarbe, Austin Vega, Justin Vega; and a host of extended family and friends who will cherish her memory.
