Jose Ivan Ortiz

Jose Ivan Ortiz, age 73 of Waterbury, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Abbott Terrace Health Center, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family. Jose was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico; the beloved son of the late Jose I. Ortiz & Rosa M. Santana. Jose was a loving and dedicated father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many. He was always a very kind and respectful man. Jose enjoyed spending time with his family and painting with her grandchildren. He was very tech savvy and great at repairing computers. He will be missed deeply by all. In addition to his parents, Jose was predeceased by his son, Jose I. Ortiz Jr. Jose is survived by his; former spouse, Margarita Ortiz; three sons, Ramon Ortiz of Danbury, Angelo L. Ortiz of Bridgeport, Richard Kadie Ortiz of Bridgeport; two daughters, Margarita Helms of Bridgeport, Elizabeth Santana; sister, Rosa Santos of Boston, MA., six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends who will cherish his memory. A Memorial Service to Honor Jose's Life will be held Friday, March 1, 2019 from 6 pm - 8 pm at Community Funeral Chapels 798 Park Ave. Bridgeport, CT. Tel: 203-334-9999.
