Jose Alberto Rodrigues Dos Santos Maia

Jose Alberto Rodrigues dos Santos Maia, age 76 of Bridgeport, loving husband of Rose Marie (Behmer) Maia, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, February 2, 2020 at St. Vincent's Medical Center, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family. Jose was born October 22, 1943 in Lisbon, Portugal; the beloved son of the late Antonio Gomes dos Santos Maia & Maria Da Conceicao Rodrigues Maia. Jose was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was a very kind and generous man, who would give the shirt off his back to help someone in need. Jose had a big heart and loved helping others. He enjoyed listening to music, working on cars, and spending time with his family. Jose will be missed deeply by all who had the honor of knowing him. In addition to Rose, his wife of 45 years, Jose is survived by his: son, Ricardo B. Maia & daughter-in-law Ligia Goncalves Maia; daughter, Rosane B. Maia & son-in-law Paulo dos Anjos; nephew, Osmar Fernando Maia Rodrigues; nephew, Thalles Behmer; sister, Gracinda Maria Rodrigues dos Santos Maia; five grandchildren, Kelvin Fernando Maia, Carolina B. Maia, Julie B. Maia, Ricardo B. Maia Jr., Katie Maia dos Anjos; and a host of extended family and friends who will cherish his memory. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, February 8, 2020 from 10:00am - 11:00am at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 391 Ogden St. Bridgeport, CT. 06608.
