In Loving Memory of Jorge "Georgie" Malave Roman

With deep sorrow and loving remembrance, we announce the passing of Jorge "Georgie" Malave Roman, age 70, of Bridgeport, Connecticut, who passed away peacefully on July 31, 2026, at St. Vincent's Hospital.

Jorge was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, to the late Hipólito Malave, of Adjuntas, Puerto Rico, and the late Hilda Román, of Utuado, Puerto Rico. He was raised in Puerto Rico before coming to Bridgeport, Connecticut, his home later in life, where he built lasting friendships and became known for his generosity, strong work ethic, and willingness to help anyone in need.

Affectionately known as "Georgie," he was a hardworking blue-collar man who spent many years working in maintenance. He had an exceptional talent for fixing just about anything and was the family's trusted handyman. Whether it was repairing a broken appliance, working on a home project, or tinkering with something until it worked again, Jorge found joy in solving problems with his hands. He also had a lifelong love of cars and enjoyed working on them whenever he had the chance.

More than his skills, Jorge will be remembered for his kind heart and generous spirit. He never hesitated to lend a helping hand to family, friends, neighbors, or anyone who needed assistance. His quiet acts of kindness and dependable nature touched the lives of many, and he leaves behind a legacy of compassion, humility, and hard work.

Jorge was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Hipólito Malave and Hilda Román, and by his brother, Norberto Malave.

He is lovingly survived by his devoted partner and common-law wife, Judith "Judy" Carasquillo; his beloved son, Marcos Malave Acosta; his sisters, Everlidis Castro and Daisy Barreiro; his brother, Norberto Malave; and several cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.

Though Jorge is now at rest, the love, kindness, and generosity he shared will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him. He was a devoted partner, loving father, caring brother, loyal friend, and a genuinely good man whose presence made the world a little brighter.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives he touched.  May he rest in eternal peace.

Con profundo dolor y amor en nuestros corazones, anunciamos el fallecimiento de Jorge "Georgie" Malave Román, de 70 años, residente de Bridgeport, Connecticut, quien partió en paz el 31 de julio de 2026 en el Hospital St. Vincent's.

Jorge nació en Ponce, Puerto Rico, hijo de los ya fallecidos Hipólito Malave, natural de Adjuntas, Puerto Rico, y Hilda Román, natural de Utuado, Puerto Rico. Fue criado en Puerto Rico y, más adelante en su vida, se estableció en Bridgeport, Connecticut, donde formó su hogar y se ganó el cariño y el respeto de quienes tuvieron el privilegio de conocerlo.

Conocido cariñosamente como "Georgie", fue un hombre trabajador y dedicado que pasó muchos años desempeñándose en el área de mantenimiento. Tenía un talento especial para reparar prácticamente cualquier cosa y era el mecánico y "handyman" de confianza de su familia. Siempre estaba dispuesto a arreglar un electrodoméstico, reparar algo en el hogar o dedicar horas a encontrar la solución a cualquier problema hasta hacerlo funcionar nuevamente. También sentía una gran pasión por los automóviles y disfrutaba trabajando en ellos siempre que podía.

Más allá de sus habilidades, Jorge será recordado por su enorme corazón, su nobleza y su generosidad. Siempre estaba dispuesto a tender una mano amiga a familiares, amigos, vecinos o a cualquier persona que necesitara ayuda. Su humildad, disposición para servir y espíritu bondadoso dejaron una huella imborrable en todos los que lo conocieron.

Jorge fue precedido en la muerte por sus amados padres, Hipólito Malave y Hilda Román, y por su hermano, Norberto Malave.

Deja para honrar y atesorar su memoria a su compañera de vida y esposa de hecho, Judith "Judy" Carasquillo; a su amado hijo, Marcos Malave Acosta; a sus hermanas, Everlidis Castro y Daisy Barreiro; a su hermano, Norberto Malave; además de varios sobrinos, sobrinas, familiares y amistades que lo recordarán con inmenso cariño.

Aunque hoy Jorge descansa, el amor, la bondad y la generosidad que compartió permanecerán por siempre en el corazón de quienes tuvieron la dicha de conocerlo. Fue un compañero dedicado, un padre amoroso, un hermano ejemplar, un amigo leal y un hombre de gran corazón cuya presencia hizo la vida mejor para muchos.

Su recuerdo vivirá para siempre en nuestros corazones. Que descanse en la paz eterna.
