Joel Santana, age 64, of Bridgeport, Connecticut, passed away on February 8, 2026.
Joel was born on August 9, 1961, in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico, to the late Guillermo Santana and Nilda Nazario. He was raised in San Germán, Puerto Rico, alongside his eight siblings: Zaida, Mazda, Ivonne, Loida, Mildred, Guillermo, Rafael, and Dixon. Later in life, he relocated to Bridgeport, Connecticut, where he made his home and built many lasting friendships.
Joel was known for his vibrant personality and wonderful sense of humor. He had a comical spirit that could brighten any room and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He truly enjoyed being of service to others.
A talented and hands-on individual, Joel loved playing the guitar and working on cars. He spent many years working in factories and as a mechanic before retiring. Even in retirement, he continued doing what he loved—working with his hands and sharing his joyous spirit with others.
Joel cherished spending time with his family and friends. He was a devoted father to Joeliana, Anamarie, Lindsay, Joanna, Jason, and Joel. His children were the pride and joy of his life. He loved telling them jokes, making them laugh with his natural humor, and enjoying music together. Those shared moments—filled with laughter, stories, and songs—are memories his children will forever hold close to their hearts.
Joel was predeceased by his father, Guillermo Santana; his sister, Loida; and his brother, Rafael. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother, Nilda Nazario; his siblings; his beloved children; and his grandchildren, all of whom will miss him dearly.
