Jannie Louise Woods

Jannie Louise Woods, age 71 of Bridgeport, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at St. Vincent's Medical Center, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family. Jannie was born November 22, 1948 in Cope, South Carolina; the beloved daughter of the late Curtis Smith & Eartha Lee Parker. Jannie was a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She was an incredibly kind and caring woman. She was a fighter all her life. Jannie had a hard exterior, but inside she was soft with a gentle soul. Jannie was witty and eloquent with her words. She enjoyed playing cards, watching shows on T.V. and doing puzzles. In addition to her parents, Jannie was predeceased by her daughter, Sharon Woods. Jannie is survived by her: daughter, Kristal Woods; son, Rodney Woods Sr.; seven grandchildren, Devin Woods Sr., Dennis Woods Sr., Derrick Woods, Tia Woods, Rodney Woods Jr., Roisin Woods, Rhiannon Woods; four great-grandchildren, Devin Woods Jr., Dennis Woods Jr, Zaylah Roque, Lariyah Booker, and a host of siblings, extended family and friends who will cherish her memory. Friends may greet the family on Monday, February 10, 2020 from 10:00am - 11:00am at Mt. Aery Baptist Church, 73 Frank Street, Bridgeport, CT. 06604. A Home Going Service will proceed from 11:00am - 12:00pm. Interment will be held privately.
