In Loving Memory of Jannette "Janet" Heredia
Jannette "Janet" Heredia, a beacon of love and joy, departed from this world on May 11, 2024, at Midstate Hospital in Meriden. She was 63 years old. Janet, a longtime resident of Bridgeport, CT, was born on July 17, 1960, in Utuado, PR, to the late Octavio Heredia and Carmen J. Colon.
Janet's early years were filled with the laughter and camaraderie of her 15 siblings. At the age of 15, she embarked on a new chapter, relocating to Bridgeport, CT, where she would weave the tapestry of her life.
Janet's spirit was as vibrant as her Puerto Rican heritage. A devoted mother and grandmother, she delighted in filling the lives of her children and grandchildren with laughter and joy. Known for her mischievous pranks and love of fun-filled adventures, Janet's zest for life was infectious to all who knew her.
In her professional life, Janet was dedicated and hardworking, spending years in a factory before retiring in 1992. Her commitment to her craft was matched only by her unwavering dedication to her family and loved ones.
Janet leaves behind a legacy of love that will forever be cherished by her children: Yasmin Rivera, Janet Rivera, Maria, Christina, Gisell Martinez, and her son Rafael Heredia.
She was predeceased by her parents Octavio Heredia and Carmen Julia Colon, as well as her brothers Orlando, Luis, Wilfredo, Angel, and Jose Heredia, and her sister Nydia Heredia, along with multiple nieces and nephews.
In addition to her children, Janet is survived by her siblings including her sisters Evelyn, Rosy, Lourdes, Nilsa, Samia, Mildred, Nancy, and her brothers Reinaldo and Edwin and her grandchildren Julio, Yesenia, Shantell, Golti, Francisco, Joey, Jose, Ethan Pabon, Yasmin, Aaliyah, Aiden, Sabrina, Edwin, Melanie, Vienalee, Jannette, Janelle and numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends whose lives she touched with her boundless love and compassion. Though she may no longer walk among us, Janet's spirit will continue to shine brightly in our hearts, guiding us with love and laughter for years to come. Rest in peace, dear Janet. Your legacy of love will live on forever.
