Janet Maritza Rivera

Janet Maritza Rivera, lovingly known as Jenny/Carmen, age 45, of Bridgeport, Connecticut, passed away on March 20, 2025. Born on December 4, 1979, in Bridgeport, she was the cherished daughter of Janette and Aladino.

Janet was a radiant soul—joyful, funny, and full of light. She was always happy, loving, and caring, with an old-school charm that made everyone feel at home. She had a deep love for dancing and singing and treasured every moment spent with her family, especially playing with the little ones.

She is survived by her two beloved children, Francisco Cotto and Joey Williams. She also leaves behind her father, Aladino, and her eight siblings: Yasmin, Gisell, Christina, Rafael, Maria, Yesenia, Yadira, and Yamilette. She will be dearly missed by her extended family, including Melody, Peyton, Yasliana, Novah, Ariel, Melanie, Edward, Julio, Yesenia, Shantell, Gotti, Ashanti, Aliyah, Aiden, Janette, Janelle, Viena lee, Jose, Ethan, and Sabrina. Janet is reunited in heaven with her mother, Jeanette Heredia.

A celebration of her life will be held on March 26, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Community Funeral Chapels, 798 Park Ave., Bridgeport, Connecticut. Friends and family are invited to leave a memory or light a virtual candle at communityfuneralchapels.com.
